Explain the Covid 19 pandemic and the impact it has
had on the world in terms of the number of infections being over 216 million,
deaths at over 4.5 million; countries having to shut borders, businesses closed
down etc.

and advise on management of the pandemic to
address the healthcare policy, leadership theories and the use information
systems in healthcare management

your analysis should include studies on the nature of healthcare leadership/management,
and the role of clinical staff as managers and leaders. You could also discuss social, political and cultural factors that have the capacity to potentially undermine the
delivery of equitable healthcare.
Your
report should focus on the use of information and Information Systems in
hospital and healthcare contexts, and ways in which healthcare leaders can
use these resources to improve healthcare delivery.

2.1 Background
– explain how different countries health
systems responded to the challenge of the pandemic.
– from your research explain what
preparations were being made at a global level to spot the next pandemic.
Provide a brief explanation of the origin of Covid 19 and that it still came as
a surprise to the world.
2.2 Purpose of the study
The purpose is to – review the the healthcare policy, leadership theories and the use
information systems in healthcare management to address a pandemic and minimise
adverse impact on patients and the population.
2.3 Value of Health Informatics in a pandemic
Having a proper HIS to ensure that – you can
track patients and keep detailed information on the range of tests that are
conducted. The pandemic is evolving in many ways, so data is required to pick
up trends and patterns. Eg, the variants that are causing countries to go into
a third wave of lockdown. A HIS would also help in identifying ways in which
the infection is being spread, and also see hotspots which can be cordoned off
before it spreads to become an epidemic.

there is need to join government in providing information to people to help

positive to quarantine stage to the step down process until they are discharged.
