Read Zeynep Tufekci’s book, Twitter and Tear Gas: The Power and Fragility of Networked Protest, entire book.. The idea of technological affordances – “the actions a given technology facilitates or makes possible” – is a central theme of Tufekci’s book, just as it has been a central theme of our course. How do the complex affordances of digital connectivity – affordances that may change over time and differ across platforms – help explain both the strengths and the weaknesses of networked protest?
The book is attached in the files.
