PERSONAL ESSAY FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

THIS PERSONAL STATEMENT IS FOR APPLYING TO A SCHOLARSHIP. I AM GIVING BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT ME.

This personal statement should describe:

* Academic strengths and challenges : (i had a hard time completing my college degree and taking extra classes required to apply to the nursing program because i always had to work and study at the same time, also supporting my family back in my country because i live alone in the United states, i am divorced also, so i have to support myself)
* your motivation for wanting to become a registered nurse and future career goals: ( Currently, I work as a dialysis technician. I have worked in this job for two years. Working in this position taught me responsibility and commitment. Caring for dialysis patients requires consistency and absolute dedication. Here, I have worked with numerous nurses and physicians, often learning different nursing skills implicitly. These factors are the main reasons for my decision to enroll in nursing. I want to major in dialysis nurse. before practicing as a dialysis technician, I was a phlebotomist for three years. These two experiences have shaped me for the better, preparing me for nursing and its environment)
* your reasons for applying for this scholarship, including a description of any financial
hardship relating to your education: ( I deserve this scholarship based on my love of learning, the enjoyment of the field. This scholarship will help me to get closer to my life-long dream. Make sure to show I am committed in my passion, I want to shows them that I am someone who will put the award to good use. I also been working so hard to save some money to help me to survive while i am studying. I need this scholarship because i wont be able to work and it will be very helpful to support myself while studying.
* describe any community service and/or volunteer activities that you have participated ( I didn’t have the opportunity to volunteer because I always had to work to support my self. I am in disadvantage since I have to work for my family to support them. I could not effort to stop working to study or working for free).
* any other relevant information that you believe may be helpful to persons reviewing your application.( i am an emigrant. I came to this country because of lack of opportunities and Ive been working so hard to keep my give to my little brothers education. My mom was a single mom who had to work hard for 3 kids and she can not work anymore, so i became as an older sister the main provider in the household. I will be the first person in the family with a professional degree.
