Personal learning experience

Directions: Write a two page personal reflection on your reading and writing history. Answer these three questions.
(20 points)
1. Tell about one or two outstanding teacher or teachers. What made the teachers so good? What did they do to be so good? How did they make learning come alive for you? How did they help you personally? Did they help you feel confident and build your self-esteem? Did they teach you how to learn? Did they inspire you to become passionate about a topic? Did they use varied and interactive strategies? Did they improve your reading and writing and how?
2. When did you feel like an expert at something? What was the assignment or project? What made you feel so good about this project? Would you do an assignment like this for your students? How could you make sure your students felt like experts at something? How could you differentiate it for your students with special needs?
3. What kind of learner are you? Auditory? Visual? Kinesthetic? Do you have to write things down to learn them? Do you have to tell someone else about them? When did you figure out how you learn best? Did you figure it out on your own or did a teacher or someone else help you figure it out? Do you think it is important for students to figure out how they learn best and why?
