Information about me:
My bachelor’s is in Kinesiology, Specialization in Inclusive Physical Activity in Communities. I graduated about 2 years ago. I was going to pursue Occupational therapy. I started to work at a social center, specializing in children with special needs, where I hope for a chance to co-treat with another Occupational therapist to see if it is the right fit for me. I got my certificate as a registered behavior technician (RBT) I have worked as RBT for 7 months now and seeing my clients improve is the biggest motivation for me to pursue a higher level of education in the field. I want to use the knowledge that I learned to be able to help more people.
2/ Describe one or more personal or professional goals that motivate you to apply for this program. How will completion of the MA in Special Education (ABA) program help you fulfill this / these goals? Discuss why you aspire to become a Board Certified Behavior Analysist – BCBA (if applicable).
I have a chance to talk to BCBAs that I worked with on the case and have a deeper understanding of the field. Seeing their passion for kids and how they talked about their careers encouraged me to pursue this career.
3/ Describe skills and attributes that you currently possess or steps have you taken, or will you take, to ensure that you will be successful in the program.
4/ What skills and experience would you like to gain or strengthen through study in MA Special Education (ABA) program?
