Employee Engagement Project (Individual Assignment)
You are a Practice Manager for the MGMA Physician Practice (MGMA/PP). Your most recent employee engagement survey results show that your team is less engaged this year than in prior years. You must implement an employee engagement initiative to address the results of the survey and improve engagement within your team.
Students should create reasons for and then provide solutions to employee engagement improvement.
Included in the reasons (but not limited to) for this decline in employee engagement should be:
• Inconsistent, ambiguous and/or insufficient direction related to assignment expectations,
• Lack of ongoing positive and/or negative feedback related to performance (in addition to an annual performance evaluation),
• Insufficient training and/or equipment required to successfully complete assignments,
• Inconsistency in employee specific work performance expectations on the part of managers, and
• Poor communication of general information within the department and/or organization.
Do the following:
• Describe the initiative.
• Describe how you will implement the initiative.
• Describe the anticipated cost and expected outcomes of the initiative.
• Identify the intrinsic and/or extrinsic motivators that this initiative will address.
• Describe how you will evaluate and monitor the success of the initiative.
• Describe how you will sustain the success of the initiative.
