Each student will write a play
Also available in this Project Folder is an example that you may use as your guide for formatting:Wedding Bell Blues
The first page will be a TITLE PAGE, and will include the Title of the play, the student’s name, the date it was completed, the TIME(S), PLACE(S) and CHARACTERS. (seeWedding Bell Blues for format) This TITLE PAGE will count as one of the six required pages.
Font: Times New Roman or Courier. Font Size: 12.
Microsoft Word default margins all the way around.
Center each character name and type character name in ALL CAPS.
Stage directions are indented about 1½ inch from the left and put in parentheses.
Please submit as a Word document or a pdf document.
You may start with one of the stories that began to grow out of the playwriting exercises we did in class:
PASSION + CHARACTER(S) +SPECIAL DAY + OBSTACLE(S) = PLAY.
Or write absolutely anything you want.
Have fun. Get your characters talking. Let them take over. Trust them. Get to page six. Give the play an ending. You will be graded on how seriously you have taken the project, not on your brilliance as a writer.
This project will be submitted under SafeAssign (no exceptions) so please — do not share or borrow work.
