Essays must have
multiple citations from Plato, Machiavelli and Sokoloff that are properly documented (with page
number). Students must advance their own argument through a critical engagement with Plato and
Machiavelli and Sokoloff. This means that you are required to criticize (e.g., say why Plato,
Machiavelli and Sokoloff are wrong about something in their published writings we are reading
by them) and advance your better idea that is backed up with evidence and argumentation
