Write an essay of 500-750 words in which you explicate one or two poems (depending on poem length). For this assignment, you choose the poem(s) and you decide which elements it makes sense to discuss. (If, for example, you choose a poem that does not rhyme, it doesn’t make sense to have a paragraph about rhyme scheme.) You do NOT need to do outside research. I would rather all the ideas come from you. If you DO use any outside sources, whether to read about the poet or an analysis of the poems, you will need to cite your sources and make it very clear where the ideas come from the source.
Whether you use outside sources or not, you should include a work cited page in MLA format.
