Your essay must be 1200-1500 words, typed, double-spaced, and written in 12 point font. Please include a title at the top of the first page: you can even make it fun(ny). In addition to editing for clarity, organization, and style, make sure that you edit your essay for grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors.

Please review the Student Code of Conduct’s policy on plagiarism. I have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to any instance of plagiarism in this class. If you plagiarize on this paper, you will receive a zero for the assignment.
Content requirements
Please choose one of your Issue Analysis assignments for this final essay. This analysis assignment will provide you with your essay topic. In fact, please think of this essay as a revision and formalization of that analysis assignment.
1. Please begin your essay with a short introductory paragraph.
This paragraph should end with your thesis statement.
Your thesis statement should succinctly state your particular position or argument. I encourage you to use the first person in developing your thesis statement.
If you have trouble developing a thesis statement, take a close look at your analysis assignment. Look specifically at the places where you articulate your own analysis (and not a summary of another philosopher’s view). What single statement would best summarize your overall position? This single statement should serve as your thesis.
2. After your introductory paragraph, please defend your thesis with your own supporting claims and analysis. This should be the most substantive portion of your essay.
Provide reasons, justifications, and examples that support your thesis.
Define any concepts that are central to your argument.

3. Your next section should be relatively short: Simply identify a potential objection to one portion of your argument.
You may state this objection in 1-2 sentences.
4. Your next section should be your reply to that objection.
Consider one or more of the following questions in your reply: Why is your defense of your thesis still strong despite the objection you raise? Do you need to make a slight change to your analysis so that it avoids the problems you’ve identified in your objection? Think of this section as your chance to re-defend your thesis.
5. Your last section is your conclusion. I’m not looking for anything fancy here. Just give me a brief summary of your argument.
