destabilization is described as being signaled by a “however” or “but” . it is the moment when the writer
initially distinguishes his or her position against the status (persuasive position argued by one or more
experts in the field). A strong thesis statement consists of the destabilization and may also articulate a
resolution. Here, the importance of ‘” because” must be added to your statement so when you consider your destabilizing position, make sure you include a “because” that will help you indicate the two or
three supporting points to form the basis for your argument.
