Objective:
Developmental Psychology, applies every day in the world around us. Students need to possess the ability to apply the information from this class and communicate the understanding of the material through one presentation. Students must use theories and concepts from the textbook and discussed in class in their powerpoint presentation.

Basic Guidelines:
The powerpoint project should include:
one video of an adolescent or adult of the age range for 10 topics
detailed explanations of how the video illustrates the topic
As a formal research project it should follow basic formatting guidelines including: proper grammar (no contractions), works cited or reference slide, proper citation for pictures and graphics. The powerpoint project should include at least 10 topics and the works cited page and cover page. Students should be able to articulate the key elements found in the video and the key elements of the theory. The adolescents and adults in the videos should fit the age range of 12-100 years old. Students are not permitted to use videos that are for educational purpose or labeled as the theory and posted, students cannot use videos that were posted on blackboard or used in class. Family videos or personal videos are acceptable and best.

Topics:
Students should include at least one example of the following:
Piaget’s formal and or post-formal cognitive develop stage/hypothetical deductive reasoning
Erikson’s psychosocial stage of development (for adolescent or adulthood)
3.Adolescent egocentrism, imaginary audience, personal fable or invincibility fable
Dual-Process model of adolescent thought
James Marcia- Identity formation
Kohlberg’s moral development
Sternberg’s Dimensions of Love
Helicopter parenting or free range parenting
Fluid or Crystallized intelligence
Selective optimization with compensation
Sandwich generation
Aging (young-old, old-old, oldest-old)
Grandparents (remote, compassionate, involved, surrogate)
