Prepare a recorded oral presentation describing a virtual museum tour related to one or more of the following concepts: culture, socialization, social interaction, social inequalities, social change, deviance, conformity, social control, belonging groups, networks, organizations, social institutions, power, colonization, stratification, social mobility, intersectionality, gender, race, class, social movements, and environmental injustice.
In your recorded oral presentation, you are expected to use the concepts addressed in the course to do a sociological analysis of the pieces you saw displayed at the museum you chose.
Note that you are not required to visit a museum in-person. Of course, you can if you wish, but I’m providing below a list of museums that offer virtual tours, which means you can visit them online from your home.
Google Arts and Culture provides access to free virtual tours in over 200 museums worldwide. Below is a list of local museums that offer virtual tours. Please note that these are only suggestions. You are free to choose another museum as long as you can justify a sociological analysis of its content.
