The conversation regarding the legalization of marijuana has been an ongoing one in society for many years. In this week’s discussion post, we will have a mini-debate regarding the legalization of recreational marijuana. Please refrain from considerations of medical use, so that everyone can be on the same page. It is really helpful to have students find arguments on both sides of this issue, please consider arguing against the side, as typically lots of people argue pro-legalization. The subject line of your post should read either PRO or AGAINST depending on which side of the debate your will be arguing. This allows everyone to easily identify to whom they should respond.
Come up with a list of 3-5 reasons you support your position. Find a few sources to back your claims. For this assignment, these do not need to come from academic journals but must use reputable websites, books, or other news sources. Again, these need to be reputable sites; quoting a TikTok from someone who “swears smoking daily is good for you” is not a reputable source. Aim for 3-5 sources and cite at the bottom of your post.
