You act for Faisal, who is proposing to enter into a contract to sell a consignment of dates to Mohammed (‘the Goods’)
Your task is to produce a short draft contract to embody the agreement
Faisal gives you the following information about what has been agreed between himself and Mohammed.
The Goods are to be delivered in three instalments, the first on 31 January 2022, the second on 28 February 2022 and the third on 31 March 2022 . The first instalment is to contain 5 tons of dates, the second instalment 10 tons of dates and the third instalment 15 tons of dates.
The price is 30,000 rials, payable as follows
5000 rials by 15 February 2022
10000 rials by 15 March 2022 2022
15000 rials by 15 April 2022
Mohammed will pay all shipping costs.
Faisal wants to exclude as far as possible any liability for defects in the goods, and he specifically asks you to produce a draft which will do this to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Also, prepare a short memorandum explaining the purpose of each clause in your draft contract.

These requirements are imposed in order to simplify the task of marking these assignments. Any work not complying with them is likely to be sent back for amendment.
There will also be an opportunity to submit a first draft for my review. The deadline for doing this will be one week before the final submission deadline. Work submitted after this deadline will not be reviewed.
I urge all students to take advantage of this offer. In the past it has saved a number of students from going badly wrong. Remember also that the rules of the University do not allow a second attempt if you do badly the first time.
