Professionalism

For this assignment, you will prepare a 3-page paper that describes professionalism and ethics related to professionalism. You will need to follow APA format for your paper, including the cover page, headings, citations/references, etc. Refer to the link on the Course Menu for information on APA. Closely read and follow the grading rubric. Review the Syllabus for the course policy on late assignments. See the Course Schedule on the Course Menu for the due date.
Paper Guidelines:
Written text should be a maximum of 3-pages.
Include a cover page (not included in page count).
Attach a separate reference page (not included in page count).
Note: Papers exceeding the prescribed page limit will not be graded.
Write the paper the format of the first person point of view (and not third person)
APA format, including:
Double-spaced with 1-inch margins, Times New Roman 12-point font or Arial 11-point font.
Use the section headings as follows:
Job vs. Profession
Nursing as a Profession
Ethical Framework(s) and Application
Summary and Future Plans
Include at least four professional or academic sources (e.g., a peer-reviewed journal article) beyond those provided in the assigned readings. In addition, at least one citation should included in each of the major sections (but not necessarily in the introduction or summary/conclusion).
Cite all sources in the reference list.
Failure to cite all sources is plagiarism.
Limit the use of direct quotes.
Note: A dictionary is typically not a great source for an academic paper.

Nursing as a Profession
Write a 1/2-page summary and include the following:
What differentiates nursing as a profession?
Ethical Framework(s) and Application
Write a 1-page summary and include the following:
Identify an ethical framework (e.g., utilitarianism) applicable to your future career and related to professionalism.
Briefly describe this ethical framework as applied to healthcare/nursing.
Provide examples or specifics regarding how to apply this framework in your work as an APN or in advanced nursing practice.
