Please use the topic you proposed at the beginning of this class. If you proposed a quantitative topic, explain what the dependent and independent variables are and which confounding variables might exist (name two or three). Then discuss how the variables impact your research design. If you chose a qualitative topic, then of course variables do not apply. In that case, imagine what the situation would be like if your study were qualitative and then explain the variables and how they might impact your design.
Remember that the dependent variable is the one that is measured to see if anything has changed, the independent variable is the treatment, and the confounding variable is anything other than the treatment that can explain the change in the dependent variable.

Create as many rows as needed. When you fill in the cells with what each type of study is like; there is no need to get into the details of the different designs in each category. Match the cells across rows if you can; if there is no matching information for a cell, leave it blank.
