In order to demonstrate your newly-developed command of R (and to learn quite a bit more by doing), I have set a final project that simulates the process of cleaning real-world data and performing some analysis on it. Specifically, I’d like you to clean the World Development Indicators and run some analysis on the cleaned data. The R file for the deliverable (attached below as “project-annotated.R”) is heavily annotated so the cleaning portion is largely standardized, and I’ll expect you to fill in the blanks for the arguments specified – there are no annotations for the analysis portion, as much of that code can be adapted from what we work on in class.
project-annotated.R Download project-annotated.R
There are RDS versions of these data available for download here through Canvas, if you have trouble downloading directly from the World Bank Group website. The tentative due date will be 11:59PM on Sunday, January 22.
Instructions are as follows:
Using the annotated R script provided, complete the code snippets necessary to munge the raw World Bank Group indicators as downloaded directly from the World Bank Group website Links to an external site..
Using the tidied data from 1., perform 14 of the 22 detailed analysis tasks in the annotated R script, and include all code used to perform the analysis in the R script.
Submit the full R script used to perform your analysis to Canvas by 11:59PM on Sunday, January 22. I expect I will be able to run your R script end-to-end with no errors and produce the correct results from the analysis pipeline.
