Directions: Using what you have read in the Unit, your own experiences, and information you found in your United States History and Geography textbook, use the Text Editor to write an essay in which you answer ONE of the questions below. Marcus Garvey and W.E.B. Dubois represented two different approaches to bettering the lives of African Americans. Which plan do you think was best and why? Do you think that race relations in America have improved today? Why or why not?
African Americans worked as performers and staff at the Cotton Club, but they were initially not allowed as customers. Why did the club desegregate? What does this say about America during the twenties? Do you think race relations in America have improved today? Why or why not?
