Report on the Milwaukee Bucks

Topic
The Milwaukee Bucks (NBA Team)

The Final Project Overview
You work as a media consultant and have been hired by a Wisconsin organization to write a report that assesses their writing including both internal and external communication.

The Research
To begin your project, start digging in these spots (some of which should be obvious):
Company website. Review the mission, history, products, and services, etc., of course, and also collect news releases and any more internal-focused documents that will help you get a sense of the company culture. In particular, try to learn about the company’s strategic goals and new developments.
Company social media. See how the company represents itself on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter, at a minimum. What qualifies as news? What do they post and when? What are the tone, style, and approach the company takes on the different social media outlets?
Job-specific information. Find out what you can about the company. You may find these sites helpful in your digging (and there are plenty of others):
http://www.sec.gov/edgar.shtml (Links to an external site.)
Milwaukee Business Journal
Industry news. Dig into the company’s industry as a whole. Who are their key competitors and how are they situated in relation to their competitors? Investigate competitor websites in particular, for clues about key differences.

The Report
Take the information you’ve gathered and put it together into a report that is, at minimum, 7 pages of single-spaced content (this will include all report components from the transmittal memo to the reference page). Include the company name as your primary heading, and use subheadings to mark subsections.
The report should also include a memo of transmittal, an executive summary, a title page, introduction/background, findings/analysis, conclusions/recommendations, and a reference page in APA format.
Note on citing your sources: It may be tempting to copy and paste large portions of your report from online sources, but please be careful to avoid plagiarism! It’s perfectly legitimate to include quotations from online sources if you use quote marks and cite your sources, but keep your quotations to no more than three-four sentences at a time, and make sure that the bulk of the writing in the report is your own.

Assessment
Your report will be assessed on its overall quality in its content, style, organization, and overall quality.
