Assignment Research Study: Efficacy of different infusion rates of oxytocin for maintaining uterine tone during elective caesarean section:
A randomised double blind trial
Each student is expected to contribute equitably to the completion of the team assignment. Students may submit a Peer Review in the event that equitable contribution does not occur
Create a GoogleDoc to allow for collaboration and shared authorship of the assignment. This serves to document the contribution of each team member
Each student is expected to read the assigned study and make draft notes on all components of the Research Appraisal Tool for sharing with the team.
Avoid dividing the assignment – in PICOT 1, students will independently appraise four studies. This assignment is your opportunity to master this competency by teamwork
Meet as a team as often as needed, in your faculty Collaborate Room, to synthesize each member’s appraisal into one final document for submission.
General Reminders:
Start early – organizing a team takes time, and often teams need to meet more than once
Establish a way to communicate with one another – text, e-mail
When writing, use original wording – cut and paste from the study is not permitted
Only use terms and language that you understand – be able to defend your writing
One student will submit one finalized assignment on behalf of the team
The assignment will be graded by your course faculty in accordance with the rubric posted in the syllabus
