Research paper on the role of media companies in global affairs (case study)

The research paper should be 1300-1500 words long (including in-text citations). It should be organized, concise, original, and persuasive.

Question prompt:
Many scholars argue that “narratives” are a source of power. For example, Joseph Nye argues that in the contemporary world power is no longer about “whose army wins; it’s also whose story wins.” Consequently, he suggests that “we have to think much more in terms of narratives and whose narrative is going to be effective.” Increasingly, however, the ability to disseminate narratives is concentrated in the hands of engineers and managers of massive, unaccountable high-tech companies, such as Alphabet, Apple, Meta, and Twitter, among others. Using a very specific example as a case study, evaluate the role of such media platforms in global affairs.

Sources: your paper should be based on at least six external, reputable references as data sources
(scholarly articles, academic books, official statistics, government/IGO/NGO reports, etc). Newspapers and magazines may, and in fact should, be used where appropriate, but they must be supplemented by at least six external academic and/or primary sources.

Please provide a list of all references used at the end of your paper (this does not count toward the
word limit). Your referencing should be accurate and consistent throughout the paper, and the list of
references at the end should be in alphabetical order.
