The task is to (1) choose a research field and explain why it is important to study certain issues; (2) define preliminary research questions within the field of study you are interested in answering. This all needs to be based on (3) literature review as explained at sessions 2-3: your research question should be put into context of the chosen field of study stating the research question’s relevance and importance. Thus, part of this task is to collect relevant literature with respect to the preliminary research question as well as to choose the method and check the data availability.
Expected length of the written assignment is 3 norm-pages. At the end, it will be part of Chapter I-II of the final research paper.
Recommended structure: introduction to topic (with references), literature review (with references), your research question as an implication of literature review (gap to be filled, link to papers above), planned methodology and data collection.
