Your will submit one PDF that includes your response to each of the following prompts.
Find a research article of your choosing. The article must take a sample of the population and arrive at some conclusions about the sample. You may use the university library website to find an article though Google can also be a useful source for finding articles. You might even ask a professor in your major to recommend a research study related to your interests. You are encouraged to find a study related to things you are interested in. In 1-2 sentences, explain why you chose this study.
Provide a link to the study or tell how to retrieve it.
In 3-4 sentences, provide a summary of the main ideas of the study.
Explain how the sample was generated for the study. Include any potential concerns you have about the representativeness of the sample.
Describe how the results of the study were displayed to the reader (frequency table, pie chart, bar graph, scatterplot, etc.).
Report on any measures of center (mean, median, mode) used to describe the study. For each measure used, say what it means in context. If no measures of center were used, explain why you think that was.
Report on any measures of spread (range, standard deviation) used to describe the study. For each measure used, say what it means in context. If no measures of spread were used, explain why you think that was.
