Response Paper
The purpose of the Response Paper assignment is to provide a vehicle for building and joining
concepts from the assigned readings, activities and concepts shared in this course. Your
contribution is “in response” to specific assigned topics that correspond with related concepts. A
topic statement or question will be presented via Canvas along with guidelines for writing a 5-
paragraph response paper. APA format is expected with title page, and reference page, due
dates in weekly outline. Response Papers are short scholarly papers and follow the “5
Paragraph Rule”. The first paragraph is an introduction. The next three paragraphs should be
your ideas about the topic. The 5th paragraph is the conclusion.

assignments about the “Mental Status
Examination” and “Psychiatric Interview”.
Discuss the following points related to the
interview:
1. Techniques about approaching threatening topics
2. How to change topics with style
3. Techniques for the reluctant patient
4. Techniques for the overly talkative patient
5. Techniques for the Adolescent patient
6. Any other techniques you learned from videos and or learning material
