Reviews typically serve as brief informative pieces for potential viewing audiences on whether they should buy tickets for a movie, purchase an album, or buy a book. For this assignment students will choose a work from the last 5 years to review. Essays should be 8 pages, Times New Roman, 12 pt. font, MLA format and must also incoporate 2 primary sources along with 1 secondary source.
In this assignment students will also be able to explore Video Essays. If students decide, video essays should be a minimum of 10 minutes and a maximum of 20 minutes long. Students will be able to choose their own work to review for this final essay as long as they are full bodies of work such as; books, movies, television shows (by season), albums, art collections, etc.

Vlog & Podcast Instruction/Requirements
Usually there are students who are already familiar with or on platforms such as YouTube where we see vlogs and podcasts uploaded all the time so if students would simply like to upload their content there, they can then just provide the link address here in Canvas when they come to submit.
Both Vlogs & Podcasts must have an Intro & Outro, and students should also come up with a name for their vlog or podcast as well.
Vlogs: Students must attempt some use of basic editing skills such as splicing in visual clips, cutting/splitting frames, adding in background music, text etc.
Podcasts: All podcasts must have some kind of visual aspect to them even if students would rather not show their face and keep it simply audible. They can do this either by creating their own logo/visual for the podcast itself and have it running over top of the video as the audio from the podcast plays or they can create a sort of slideshow to play as the podcast runs, or they can simply record themselves while they talk. Students who choose to do a podcast can have the option of working with 1 other partner as long as they keep a safe distance between them and are positioned at opposite sides of the table.
