This week, you will be working on system security application practices. Specifically, you will be updating the concept map and documentation that you completed last week by adding the security component. You will outline the security practices for the same service selected in Week 2 for your organization, which may include security practices, standards, documentation, and other relevant information.
Concept Map
First, determine the security architecture components for your chosen service and use this information to update your concept map. For example, using the email service example from Week 2, you would update the concept map with Security Architecture. See Email Service Concept Map Download Email Service Concept Mapas an example. After reviewing Chapter 8 in your TestOut courseware, you can also discuss the importance of implementing strong authentication and authorization passwords to minimize hackers from using brute force to crack passwords at your organization. You can also discuss different web application attacks and internet browser threats.
Documentation
Next, you will create documentation to align with the security architecture components. For example, documentation that aligns with the security architecture component would be a privacy policy. As Limoncelli, Hogan, and Chalup (2017) point out, “every site must have an email privacy policy that is communicated to and acknowledged by every employee” (“41.1 Privacy Policy,” para 1). A privacy policy, therefore, would be included as part of your documentation. You will provide details about each of the new security architecture components you identified in your concept map. Back up your choices with at least one scholarly, peer-reviewed, or credible source.
In your submittal,
Attach your updated concept map and documentation.
Explain the security components and standards you incorporated into the documentation. Provide a rationale for your decisions.
