Revision on Teaching Practicum

Make the corrections to the IO as necessary. This applies to you if you received feedback; the IO did not earn full credit.
[2 points] Add a second and/or third Condition — choose whatever strategy you believe to be most effective based on the information offered in chapter 7. For example (Your choice should be original in accordance with your lesson, don’t merely copy these Conditions)
Original IO: The student, after an explanation on the difference between the Earth’s revolution and rotation, will correctly label images as either revolution or rotation of the Earth, at least 3 out of 5 times.

Revised IO: The student, after an explanation, watching a video, and working within a group to manipulate a model of our Solar System, will correctly demonstrate through movement the difference between the Earth’s revolution around the sun or its rotation on its axis, at least 3 out of 5 times.

The Florida Standard and The Content Outline will need revision in accordance with the feedback that you received. No feedback – no revision necessary.
Complete the Section on Differentiation: (Although some students completed this section, it wasn’t assigned as part of Practicum 2, and it was not reviewed or graded)
[3 points] Identify at least three elements of the lesson plan that address or align with Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences (Only as it applies to the lesson — if there is no music included, then Music Intelligence is NOT represented in the lesson plan and it should not be listed).

[3 points] Identify at least three ways as to how the lesson plan Differentiates in Content, Process, Products, or the Learning Environment in order to meet the needs of individual learners.

[4 points] Identify at least one example for each way that the lesson address or align with Learning Styles – Visual, Kinesthetic, Audio, Tactile (VKAT)

[3 points] Identify at least three elements of Stimulus Variation, including a change in curriculum materials, teacher or student movement, and shifts of interaction.
[3 points] Identify three ESOL strategies or adaptations that are included in the lesson plan. Indicate the Alpha-numeric Code as well as the name of the strategy (Use the course materials for this information).

[2 points] Complete the Materials section: Include a list of ALL the curriculum materials that will be used during the lesson (no explanation as to how or by whom — just list them)
Make corrections as necessary to describe the SET — Reread all the information provided on Set Induction or Anticipatory Set — pay attention to bottom of page 204 – 205, Burden & Byrd, “Establishing Set” The Set never teaches any information included in the Content Outline!

Make corrections as necessary to describe the Closure. For the purposes of this class, Closure must be student closure — meaning that students will be asked to answer 2-4 questions about the most salient points of the lesson. Closure occurs before the students are asked to complete the performance task of the IO.
[3 points] Complete the Assessment section:
Describe the assignment as it would be explained to students. It should be the same performance task as stated in the IO. Students are not given information about the Criteria in the IO. Students are given information as to how their work will be evaluated. For example (based on the revised IO above):
Each small group of students will be called to the front of the classroom. The teacher will tell students that each one of them is going to role model what the Earth does in terms of movement. The teacher will randomly state the term “Rotation” or “Revolution,” and students in the group will be permitted to either spin in place (rotation) or circle around another member of the group (revolution) in order to demonstrate the correct concept. The teacher will allow each group a total of 5 opportunities to demonstrate the correct concept.
Complete the Home Learning section if appropriate given the IO. Home learning should provide an opportunity for additional practice and support as needed.
Complete the References section as appropriate.
