1. . Using “The Twelve Domains of Culture” (Purnell & Fenkl, 2021), highlight the most essential and valuable information on culture and ethnic identity. Remember, the Purnell Model incorporates the person, family, and community in the domains. What are strategies for culturally congruent nursing care? Please place a special emphasis on the perception of health, illness, and the American healthcare system as facilitative to the provision of care or a barrier to care.
a. a brief passage from a popular book or a segment of a film or video should be examined in the essay to compare and contrast the authenticity of the “lay” perception provided. For example, does the segment of the film accurately portray this cultural heritage? Why or why not? Provide concrete examples. These sources should be from lay literature and lay media sources. Documentaries cannot be used for this segment.
b. A case study should be used to construct a nursing plan of care based on a chosen scenario. Your case study needs to be reflective of culturally congruent care and should reflect information pertinent to your assigned Russian cultural heritage group.
Evidence for the cultural presentation should include a minimum three professional journal sources, with at least one from a nursing journal; AND one governmental or agency Internet website, in addition to the textbook( please see the attachment, People of Russian Heritage )
1)Content and Application of Purnell Model Domains: All 12 domains of the Purnell Model are incorporated and discussed. Comprehensive significant and accurate information provided for ALL domains.
2) Literature Support: Currency and Applicability: All required literature sources are used: textbook, one governmental or agency website Internet site, and three professional articles, relevant to Russian cultural group. 100% of required articles are from professional, peer-reviewed literature sources, published within last 10 years; with at minimum one nursing journal cited.
3) Application to Culturally Congruent Nursing Care and Practice: Correlations to nursing practice and culturally congruent caring are concretely offered and reflective of cultural information using a constructed nursing plan of care based on a case study.
Nursing history should be included and relevant, based upon the Purnell Health assessment questions.
Diagnosis or health alteration chose clearly reflective of a significant health alternation based on environmental, biocultural ecology, and cultural responses to a health alteration.
