The Ethics Guide on page 146 looks at the coronavirus. Read the guide and answer the following questions using the ethical perspectives covered in the textbook. PERSONAL OPINION IS NOT TO BE INCLUDED IN THESE ANSWERS. The purpose of the activity is to look at a single issue and view it through multiple lenses

Using the categorical imperative (page 18) and the utilitarianism (page 43) perspectives, if you were to governor of a state:
would you encourage citizens to use automated contact tracing systems?
would you encourage employers to require its use by employees while working?
would you require it to attend sporting events, or other densely populated activities?
Again, using the categorical imparative and the utilitarieanism perspectives, should a university president require automated contact tracing?

Please indicate which answer is categorical imperative and utilitarianism. For example:

Categorical imperative: Showrooming is a process in which a consumer visits a physical store, inquires about all the specifics, and feels the object before purchasing it online. The categorical imperative states that everyone is expected to act ethically regardless of the consequences. The retailer’s activity aims to encourage consumers to buy from them rather than discourage or reduce purchases from brick and mortar establishments. Therefore, in the Categorical imperative, this action of online retailers is ethical.
Utilitarianism: Utilitarianism entails taking the action that provides the most significant amount of satisfaction to the greatest number of individuals. In this case, lower prices satisfy the consumers. Hence, the act of online retailers is ethical.
