Service Quality Evaluation

· Step 1 – Develop the Methodology

What is a methodology? Basically, it is the steps you will take to collect data. It is the general research strategy that outlines the way in which research is to be undertaken and, among other things, identifies the methods to be used in it. These methods, described in the methodology, define the means or modes of data collection or, sometimes, how a specific result is to be calculated.

· Conduct an internet search for research methodologies for a survey for your proposed event

· Based on your search, develop an approach in your own words of how you plan to accomplish your data collection

· Describe the venue and proposed sample (number of people) you plan to include in your survey

· Describe how you plan to encourage survey participation

· Describe how you plan to address low respondents

· Identify survey goals

As you prepare the written presentation of your methodology and questionnaires, be sure to tie your evaluations to the things that we have learned in class. Also, be sure to conclude your paper with some recommendations that improve data collection for marketing purposes.

The final written report should consist of following sections:

Cover Page
Table of Contents
High Level Summary of the Report
Objectives (Make a clear, concise statement of exactly what you set out to achieve and why. Describe the importance of your surveys – why was this worth doing in the first place?)
Description of Participants (Describe the individuals (consumers) who you plan to target in your service quality evaluation project. Specify their basic demographic profile of the participants, including age, gender, and possibly the racial composition of the participants, and inclusion and exclusion criteria you used.
Methodology (Describe the procedures used to develop your fan survey as described above. Explain what you will have participants do, how you will collect data, and the order in which steps will occur)
Survey Instruments- 2 of them (Explain how you developed your questionnaire. Using what sources?)
Recommendations- How will you improve rate of response from participants? (Be creative, specific and provide an example(s) for each of your recommendations)
Appendices (Attach your questionnaires, etc.)

Other important considerations:

· Your report should be TYPED (Times New Roman, 12 fonts) on an 8½ x 11 size paper. The text should have 1.0 inch for the left margin and 1.0 inch for the rest of surrounding margins.

· The text needs to be double spaced.
