Describe three different kinds of setting that appear in Chopin’s “The Story of an Hour.” Your initial post should be 250 words in total: you do not have to write 250 words for each type of setting. You have a variety of ways to explore setting. For example, you may want to explore social setting, time of year, time of day, country, historical era, etc. Please separate each of the three settings you describe into their own paragraphs, totaling three paragraphs for this post.

Example of Providing Definition and Citation for Literary Analysis Terms
For example, let’s explore “exposition,” which gives us the background information needed to understand the story. Here’s how a part of a discussion post might look. The definition is underlined and the citation is in parentheses:
James’s narrator starts the story off by giving us the family history, as well as the historical era and social context, as seen in the following opening line: “Towards the middle of the eighteenth century there lived in the Province of Massachusetts a widowed gentlewoman, the mother of three children, by name Mrs Veronica Wingrave.” From this quotation, we learn the historical era, the geographical location, and the family dynamic (widow with three children). Thus, James provides readers with ample exposition before jumping into the plot. Exposition is when “the writer presents the basic information readers need to understand the events that follow” (“Plot” 125).
