Share your research source and brainstorm ideas for Midterm – Book Club Group #4: The Glass Castle

Conduct research through Google, Yahoo, or another search engine, to find a source that can be related to the book Club memoir. Look for a recently published source (within the last few years) and be sure to evaluate its credibility

, to check that the author has an objective perspective and is not biased. In this post:
List the author, title, and publication information for the source. Provide a link to the source if you can.
Explain in 1-2 sentences how you might connect the source to the Book Club memoir. What issues will you explore and what comparisons will you make?
Comment on the post of another student in your group, taking their ideas further.
You can focus on any issues or themes that you find, including but not limited to: the author’s experience as an outsider; the author’s experience of deviance from social norms; and how current events relate to scenes in the memoir.
Decide which of these issues will be most interesting to conduct research about, and then go online to find a credible research source that relates to the issue in a clear way. (For example, if racism plays a role in the memoir, find a research source that sheds light on how racism is affecting the cultural or demographic group in the memoir today, or find a source that shows how racism has impacted people in the geographic region in which your memoir takes place.)
Your goal is to provide a broader context for understanding this particular issue in the memoir by using research to update, develop, confirm, or even challenge how the author of your memoir represents this issue. You will be trying to update and deepen our knowledge by using research to shine a light on an issue from the memoir in more depth.
