Shelley, Frankenstein, 1818 version

Your job will be to read and–more importantly–analyze those selections carefully, noting the significance of textual issues like point of view, imagery, word choice, metaphor, character development, structure, etc. to develop a clear, cohesive argument as to why those issues are important. If you choose, you may foster thematic connections between at least two texts we have read and develop a specific argument. You should then develop a debatable claim regarding what that theme means or why it matters in relation to the texts. Relevant outside theoretical readings or scholarly articles are allowed only per my approval. You should certainly not be working with or citing Wikipedia, Schmoop, Sparknotes, etc. This is a literary analysis paper. Avoid Summarizing, saying “You”, Excessive rhetorical questions, Broad Theses, Repetitive Conclusions, and Long quotations.
