Write a 2-page argument essay where you take a stand for or against free public college education in the U.S. You need to support your argument with evidence as well. Whether you take a stand for or against, you have to address Sanders’ argument. If you take a stand against making public colleges and Universities tuition free, then your task is to acknowledge the validity of Sanders’ argument but point out a flaw in it—discuss something his argument does not include or something that his argument takes for granted.
The essay should have:
Introduction
A clear thesis (the simplest thesis follows the formula used by the Bernie Sanders article: College education should be free because…..” i.e. take a stand and give a strong reason for taking the stand. As we progress through the semester, the thesis statement becomes more complex. For the for the first essay keep it simple)
Multiple paragraphs that have topic sentences, examples, and a focused discussion of a point.
