Section 2: Professional Organizations
Research social work professional organizations and describe professional memberships that you have joined or are considering joining. Use the following questions to guide your response:
What are the career benefits to joining a professional organization? How does a professional organization support its members, the public, and the social work profession in general?
What are the membership and career benefits of joining the professional organization you have chosen?
Beyond joining and becoming a member, describe how you plan to be actively engaged in the organization.
Section 3: Continuing Education Goals
Explain your continuing education goals. Consider the following guiding questions:
What additional education or training are you interested in pursuing?
Why, where, and how will you pursue it?
Why are these educational goals important to you?
What else would you like to learn? Identify specific topics you desire to learn more about and describe the steps you will take to do so. (e.g., health care, elderly, substance abuse, Master of Social Work, etc.)
Include any relevant website links or sources.
If you went through training programs, workshops, or certificate programs during your academic program, please summarize any experiences that are relevant to your continuing education goals.
