This week, you will create a PowerPoint presentation to sketch three theories of organized crime or three existing criminological theories, and associate them with organized crime. Be sure your presentation answers the following questions:
Why do some people participate in criminal acts?
Why do others not participate in criminal acts?
What leads people to develop their thought structure?
How is a crime defined?
How would one seek to control crime using this theory?
What kinds of crimes (organized) would these people conduct, and which would they find too “unethical” to conduct when dealing with this theory?
As part of your presentation, be sure to explain who becomes a member of organized crime. Outline the structure of a major organized crime syndicate. Make sure you discuss the key players and chain of command in organized crime groups. Be sure to demonstrate how this chain of command compares to non-criminal groups.
