Social Work Foundations Practicum

“To prepare to write the capstone reflection paper, use the
following directions: Reflect on the three areas of the definition of
spiritually sensitive professional
development—meaning and purpose in work,
reflection and discernment for ethical practice, and
spiritually sensitive self-care (Larkin,
2010)—as they specifically relate to you
and your experiences.Consider your own spiritual and religious
development and the role that spirituality and
religion have or have not played in your development
as a professional social worker.Reflect on how you would describe your professional
identity, professional role, and professional
behavior.Reflect on spiritually based practice issues,
including ethical dilemmas or any spiritually based
practice interventions you may have used in
field.Discuss spiritually based social work practice and
professional development with your field
instructor.Once you have reflected on the preceding items, consider these
additional areas: your professional strengths, weaknesses, and
greatest successes and challengesany value-driven ethical issues or dilemmas related
to your professional development that you
encountered in the field and what you learned from
themhow you are coming to define yourself as a
professional from a spiritually sensitive
perspective, including what has been easy for you
and what has been challengingany observations of or lapses of professionalism in
your field instructor, coworkers, peers, agency, and
profession as a whole and the impact each has or has
not had on your development”
