Purpose of Assignment:

To understand the connectedness of the individual to larger marco structures and forces

To provide relevant background research to inform your life experience
Requirements:
General Formatting Guidelines:
All papers should be written in essay format; with introduction,
body, and conclusion. Submissions should be double-spaced and written in Times New Roman
with one-inch margins. This paper should be written in first person. Students will need a
minimum of 4 sources from the Holman library database +reference page. APA or MLA are book
fine to use.
Chose 1 or 2 major events in your life that are significant in terms of your socialization.
Here are some suggestions for your writing/research
:
Who were the major players in terms of your socialization? Relate your experiences to your
identity formation or how you and others came to see yourself. Use Chapter 4 for reference.
How did you experience social constructs such as race, class, gender, religion, sexuality,
social class, etc.? When did you realize you came from a privileged or marginalized group
and what did that mean for your identity and how you experienced the world? How did
these identities influence your outcomes?
