Throughout the semester, you must submit two Spike papers. These papers should be a maximum of three
double spaced type written pages. Each paper will focus on one of the unit topics (listed in the left hand
column in the course schedule). In these papers, please relate the information covered in the unit to themes
identified in the movie that is viewed for that unit. When you refer to readings, be specific and mention
author(s) names. Include appropriate terminology and ideas. The idea here is not for you to summarize the
course material but to apply it to the movie. So don’t summarize the movie; assume I’ve already seen it J
