Stages of a relationship

Interpersonal Communication Application Paper
This paper requires you to apply the stages of a relationship to a relationship of your own. There are ten (10) stages that we learned but you must apply at least six (6) of the stages in your paper.
For this assignment, refer to the stages of a relationship in Chapter 9 Download Chapter 9(pp. 121-122). Think of a relationship either with a friend or a romantic partner. It could be a current or past relationship. You may change names to protect identities of others. You will go through the stages of the selected relationship using the stages from the book (initiating, experimenting, intensifying, integrating, bonding, differentiating, circumscribing, stagnating, avoiding, terminating). Remember, even though there are ten (10) stages, please only select seven (6) stages to apply.

Please highlight, bold, or italicize the stages. Specific examples must be given when describing each stage in the relationship. I want to know what happened specifically. You may use first-person while writing your paper (the use of “I”). For example, “Susie and I reached the experimenting stage when I asked her about her hobbies and interests. We talked about how we both loved basketball, running, and cooking. It turns out we both played basketball during high school. Susie and I also enjoy running in our spare time, especially along the beach.”
Papers should be written as an academic paper.
The paper should include a brief introduction paragraph of the relationship (do not start writing about the stages yet).
The body of the paper should have six (6) of the ten (10) stages with at least one example for each stage. One paragraph per stage. Each paragraph should be between 5-7 sentences.
Finally, the paper should end with a brief conclusion paragraph about what you learned about yourself and/or the relationship. Do not discuss the stages in the conclusion either.
Type a 3 to 4 page thoughtful analysis about the stages of your relationship. Remember, that relationships do not always go through all of the stages. I only require you identify six (6) of the stages and provide examples from your own relationship. Papers must 12-point font, Times New Roman, double spaced, and 1-inch margins. Papers must be carefully edited for grammatical errors. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to reading these.

Note: Late papers will not be accepted for full credit. There will be a 10% deduction per day (24 hours) submitted late. After 5 days past the due date, papers will not be accepted.
