Stanovich

Prompt:
The beginning of this course focuses on the importance of thinking about psychology from a scientific standpoint. This can frequently be a different approach than many of us are used to taking. Given the readings for Stanovich we’ve had so far (chapters 1&2), write advice to someone who is not familiar with science on how to think about an issue scientifically. How should they consider a topic? How should they observe it? How can they design a hypothesis to test their ideas? Consider and include at least 3 topics we have discussed either in class or in the text (e.g., systematic empiricism, falsifiability, etc).

Paper Content:

The reflection paper should be 2 pages, double-spaced, using size 12 Times New Roman font. Your reflection should be typed and well-edited. Your paper will be evaluated on critical thinking, application of course material, and clarity of your analysis and discussion. Poor editing and writing will affect your score. Plagiarism will result in an automatic 0.
