Survey the news, and find an article that addresses an issue you’d like to write on. Just make sure that it is a
project that requires you to study both God’s Word and God’s world.
Write a short paper (2-3 pages) that expresses your own assumptions, initial beliefs and thoughts about your
chosen topic/issue. Include your own understanding of what the best of human learning teaches about this topic,
as well as your understanding of scriptural teaching and Christian theology.
Conclude your paper by formulating a preliminary thesis that responds to the article (and the issue(s) presented in it). The thesis should be integrative. For example, “Christians should do X about Y” or “The church should respond to X in this way because
