State-sponsored hacker groups are often referred to as advanced persistent threats (APTs). Some companies simply assign them a number. Others have different naming conventions, referring to groups backed by different states as different animals, e.g. Iran’s calling card is a kitten.
In your textbook and reference material readings, we have learned a lot about cyberwarfare and attacks. One of the big questions, should (or do they already) a country that is the recipient of state sponsored cyber attack also engage (return the attack)?
