I am a Canadian who is applying to University of Texas Masters of Public Policy. I am deeply interested in this program and it is the only program I am applying to. I have visited Texas a few times and I have fallen in love with Austin, TX. I love the field of public affairs and policy. I grew up lower middle class/close to the poverty line. I am a first generation student (this is the highest education achieved in my family). I would love to make a difference in Urban policy/State policy development. I currently work for the Ontario government but I am deeply interested in moving to Texas and learning the differences in policy and affairs there. I will attach a brainstorm list of reasons I have determined. I have highlighted relevant parts. The darker highlighted are the parts I REALLY would like in there/emphasized.
