This Stock Forum is where you announce what stock you are choosing. I am giving you $10,000 to purchase stock. You assignment is to choose one US publically traded company’s stock to purchase with your money and use as much of your money as possible to purchase shares of this stock. It must be a US Company on the NY Stock Exchange or NASDQ. May not be a foreign company, a fund, nor an ETF. I will try to check but if I miss it you have the responsibility to make sure your company is a US Company and will lose points when I figure out it is not. Each module will have an assignment related to your stock.
Check this forum before you pick your stock. No duplicate stocks are allowed. First come first serve. If you click the subject they will be in alphabetical order.
Google recent information about a company you are interested in. Find an article that makes you want to own stock in the company you choose. Initially post a thread which in the Subject area lists the name of your stock, the stock symbol, the price per share, the number of shares you were able to buy, in that order. I have posted an example.
In the post give me a live link (I can click on it and go to your article, see instructions under course information) to the recent article ( no older than 1 month before our first class) that you used to choose this company. Give me a short explanation of why you chose your company, citing what information you found about this company from your article. ( three sentences are sufficient. See my example I have posted)
This must be completed by the end of the first few days of this summer session. This is worth 50 points.
