Choose any treatment setting. Interview a person who participated in that time of treatment about their experience with orientation in the facility, using the following as a guide:
a. How did they feel the first time they enrolled in a treatment program?
b. How did the agency orient them as to what to expect in treatment?
c. Did it accurately prepare them for the structure of their treatment?
d. What was missing that could have been helpful for them to know in the beginning of their treatment?
e. Which of the services they received such as individual counseling, group counseling, vocational-rehabilitation, etc. were the most helpful in preparing them to leave treatment and live life on lifes terms?
2. Discuss your reactions to the interview (did you expect the answers the person gave, what was the most surprising thing you learnt).
