This is a research paper assignment for a Masters class in Contract Management. I completed a short prospectus and this is the topic that was approved. I will include the prospectus as well as all the citations used. You do not have to limit the research to only these articles. Please see requirements below:
Papers can be on any subject covered by the class syllabus. NOTE: Papers must adhere to
common citation practices (e.g. APA, AMA, MLA, Chicago or Turabian). Papers should study
contemporary problems in one of the subject areas covered by this course. Paper should
address reviews of relevant literature. Sources may be the product of a literature search,
interviews with practitioners, internet blogs, etc. The paper will be graded on the quality of the
literature review, compliance with standards of citation and overall writing quality to include
grammar and spelling. Topics must be approved by the instructor prior to developing and
submitting the paper which can be achieved via your Prospectus. Your paper is due on
April 22, 2022 at 9 PM.
. Research Paper: 12-15 pages; 12- point font- 1.5” to 2” spacing organized as follows:
a. Title page: Choose a title that summarizes your research topic.
b. Introduction: Includes a basic description of the problem and challenges.
c. Literature Review: Summarize your reference source(s).
d. Discussion: Build your case for resolving the problem or laying out the issues.
e. Conclusion: Summarize the results.
f. Bibliography: Cite the sources in either footnotes or endnotes.
Paper topic:
Purpose of Research Paper
Supply chain delays and shortages have worsened over the past two years due to the global pandemic. These shortages have influenced the performance of contractors in both the civilian and federal acquisition space. The research paper will address the reasons that have led to the current challenges we are experiencing in the procurement of goods and materials. The research will first present the short-term actions taken to help alleviate the supply chain problems, such as Executive Orders expanding on the Buy American Act and the creation of the Supply Chain Disruptions Task Force. It will further explore the proposed regulatory changes in response to the changing economy. The point of the research will be to examine how the current supply chain challenges will influence the federal acquisition space going forward.
