Select a psychological disorder from the DSM-V. Check the DSM pdf for options. You will be focusing on how this syndrome manifests itself and thoroughly researching one treatment method. Your thesis statement will tie together your research on the disorder and your chosen treatment method.
The following areas should be covered: Overview of disorder, including Symptomology Etiology and risk factors Prevalence of the disorder Main comorbid disorders This part of your paper may be taken from the DSM-V or other sources. Be very careful to write everything in your own words. (2-4 pages) Treatment methods Brief overview of main treatment methods Focus on one treatment method in depth. Use a minimum of two peer reviewed articles to discuss the treatment method you selected. (4-8 pages) Treatment should be the focus of your paper. Begin this section by discussing any relevant treatment methods for your disorder.
Select one (it does not have to be the most used treatment method) and elaborate. At least two of your peer-reviewed articles must be used at this point in your paper. The reader should be left with a clear understanding of how to treat this disorder using the method you researched. Your paper should be a minimum of eight pages (not including your references), typed and double spaced. Indicate at the end of your report how much time you spent on this paper. You must include at least 3-5 peer reviewed scholarly articles as well as the DSM-V. Use APA style including a cover page, running headers, page numbers, a discussion section, references, in-text citations, etc. The APA Publication Manual as well as the DSM-V will be available for you to use as references.
