Mid-Term Exam
This is a take home exam. Use the text and notes from lecture to answer these questions. All responses must be in your own words. This is not a group assignment. If you use outside sources they must be properly cited in APA style. Plagiarism in any form will not be tolerated.
Answer each of these questions fully. Each question should be at least two paragraphs in length.
1) Describe the difference between reinforcement and punishment on the positive/negative spectrum. Give an example of each kind (4 different types)

6) Describe the theory of epigenetics. How does it apply to behavioral science?
7) Describe Piaget’s stage theory of cognitive development. Identify the four stages and the skills mastered at each.
8) Describe Erikson’s stage model of psychosocial development. What are the primary elements of the theory? Identify at least two separate stages and describe their conflicts/outcomes.
9) Describe Classical Conditioning. Define US, UR, NS, CS, and CR. How do these things come together?
10) Describe the process of neurotransmission. Describe four neurotransmitters and their function. Describe how information is passed through neurons.
